Meeting Luke and Maddy for the first time

Owen had another full day today. We set out pretty early to go to the mall to pick up some pj's for him since he outgrew all the pj's we bought him before he came hom.

We got some really cute ones at the Carter Store. We got 18 months and 24 months. While we walked through the mall we ran into some friends, Tutu, Tuan, and their children, Maddy and Luke. Owen was a little sleepy, so he wasn't his cheery self. We got to hang out with with the Ho family for about an hour and Rich and I were amazed at how much Maddy and Luke had grown since we last saw them in June. Maddy really amazed us with her talking and vocabulary. She's got to be one of the smartest little girls we know.

I was joking around with Maddy (I can't remember what exactly), but her response was something to the effect of "are you kidding me?" So, she's not even 4 years old yet and she understood that I was joking with her.

And when Maddy says something we didn't understand, she would say to us, "I talk fast."

Rich and I are blown away at how smart she is.

Then, there's Luke (or Ukey), Maddy's little brother. What a sweet boy. As soon as he saw us, he came up to me and gave me a big hug and held my hand. He was very friendly towards Owen who wasn't being very friendly because he was sleepy.

Kids grow up so fast. We can't wait until we see them again. I wonder what else Maddy and Luke are going to do to amaze us.

Here are a few pictures of us from yesterday and at home today. We usually carry the camera everywhere with us but unfortunately, today, we left the camera at home, so we don't have pictures of Maddy, Luke and Owen. Hopefully, in the next few weeks when Maddy and Luke come to visit, we can get pictures to post.

Here is the picture of the entire family with Santa. Owen reacted better to being with us in the picture with him. But he's still not smiling.

Here's a picture of Owen with his Uncle Tim who drove Grandma Truong to our house to take care of Owen for the week. Owen was a little scared of Uncle Tim initially, but he had just gotten up from his nap. After about 10 minutes, he really warmed up to Uncle Tim, especially since Uncle Tim held Baby Tad (his Leapster toy). Did we ever mention that Owen loves Baby Tad as much as he loves his Grandma Truong, Mommy or Daddy?

Here's Owen with Baby Tad on the floor of the family room. We will probably buy another Tad to store away somewhere just in case this one breaks. We've only had Tad for 3 weeks and we've already had to replace the battery.

Here's Owen trying to escape from the office while Daddy wasn't looking. We'll have to keep better tabs on this fast baby!
