Today we went out to the Intimex market to get Owen some baby food. The Citimart in the Somerset complex didn't have any baby food with vegetables in it, so we wanted to look elsewhere. The Intimex has a lot of choices and we found some food with carrots, broccoli, and peas in rice. We also got some Pampers diapers because the diapers we brought from home are pretty small. Owen was in a good mood during the walk in his carrier, which took an hour or so. When we got back to the apartment, we stopped in at Highlands Coffee for a snack. Owen was out of his carrier, but he behaved well. He loves watching people eat and grabs at everything on the table.
We also went to the Somerset's pool area on the fourth floor and played at the playground a little bit. There's a glider and a teeter-totter and some horses to ride. There's also some toy cars and a bridge and a toy house to play in. Owen didn't know what to make of it, but we'll go back. He also got a chance to see the wading pool.
In the evening, we tried giving the baby food to Owen but he didn't like it at all. After only three or four spoonfuls, he refused to try it any more. He obviously never tasted anything like it before. We're going to make sure he has three solid meals a day and we'll continue to try to introduce the vegetables.
His tooth was hurting before our trip to the market, but Orajel did the trick. Other than that, he was in a pretty good mood today. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera on our walk so I don't have any pictures.
Time is going by fast here and we've settled into a routine. Owen wakes up around 7, gets changed and fed, then gets bathed. Then he has a nap for an hour or two, eats lunch, and then we go for a walk in the city. We stop by Highlands Coffee on the way back, then Owen takes another nap. When he gets up, we have dinner, then Owen plays for a while and we eventually get him to go to sleep by walking around with him. With any luck, we'll be going back to the US in a week or so and we'll start a new routine at home.
