Owen had a very busy weekend. We started out the weekend with a birthday party and ended it with spending time at Grandma/Grandpa Truong's house, eating out, and playing with his cousins.
On Saturday, Owen went to a birthday party. He got to spend time with Maddy and Luke. And he got to meet some new friends, Cameron, Isabella, and Sebastian. Owen behaved really well the entire time. He allowed people to hold him and Mommy even got to hold him while Daddy snuck in a few bites of food. Fortunately or unfortunately, the food was really good, so Mommy was too busy stuffing her face to pull out the camera to take pictures at the party. She will ask Auntie Tutu if she can have copies of pictures for the post. In the meantime, a description of the events is all we have.
It was Maddy's 4th birthday party. Maddy greeted us at the door like the perfect little hostess. She came up to help Mommy with the present. Mommy said, "Happy Birthday, Maddy" and she responded with, "Thank you, Happy Birthday." After which, she took the present from Mommy and set it in a pile with the rest of her birthday presents.
We had lots of yummy food, which included battered dipped calamari, chicken skewers, egg rolls, noodles, lobster dip (Mommy practically ate the entire bowl herself!), spinach dip, pizza, Vietnamese sweet rice blocks filled with mung bean and pork, and of course, delicious birthday cake. Mommy really enjoyed the birthday cake because instead of buttercream frosting, it was topped with whipped cream (Mommy and Owen's favorite sweet treat).
Owen got to play with Maddy and Luke's toys. He had a great time in the play room where all the toys were set up. He, Bella and Sebastian took over the room the entire afternoon. It was easy for Mommy and Daddy to eat because Owen was really distracted with all the new toys.
We had to cut our stay short because Owen was falling asleep (he missed his morning and noon nap) and he fell asleep on the ride home from Auntie Tutu and Uncle Tuan's house. So, we made a stop at Babies R Us to get Owen more diapers and he slept in his stroller for 1.5 hours! He woke up refreshed and happy.
On Sunday, Daddy had to go to work but it was too busy at the office for Owen to go too, so Daddy dropped Mommy and Owen off at Grandma/Grandpa Truong's house where Owen had another fun-filled day. He hung out with his cousins Tammy, Cindy, Tracy, Ashley, and Ethan.
After they hung out for a couple of hours, Mommy took Owen to lunch with Grandma/Grandpa Truong, his Great-Aunt, Uncle Tuan, Aunt Minh, Uncle Thanh, Uncle Tim, and Aunt Karen. Owen fell asleep on the car ride to the restaurant, so he slept in his stroller while everyone else ate. He woke up after we finished our meal...just in time to be held by his Uncle Tim and Aunt Karen. Then we went to Zion Market to get pastries from the bakery and headed home.
Overall, Owen had a great weekend filled with lots of activities.
